R+J: Closing Night
An immersive, interactive love letter to live theatre.
This immersive show features two plays running simultaneously: a production of Romeo and Juliet onstage, and a new script based on the relationships of a fictional cast and crew behind the scenes.
Audiences are split into two, with half going into the auditorium of the fictional “Elizabeth Paige Theatre”, where they watch a production of Romeo and Juliet. The other half of the audience goes backstage, where they witness the story of the actors and crew behind the scenes — as well as listening in on headset, and occasionally being called into action when the show goes awry.
Viewers change locations at intermission as the production “rewinds” to the beginning, showing the audience what they missed from the other perspective.
R+J: Closing Night (previously titled Two Show Day) premiered in Winnipeg in September 2026. The run sold out within days, and earned a 5-star review from the Winnipeg Free Press. This was a joint production between Theatre Projects Manitoba and The Fox Den Collective.
